Big News: We’re Moving Into Moulsecoomb Place!

We’re absolutely thrilled to share that East Brighton Trust is beginning a brand-new chapter at one of the city’s most treasured buildings — Moulsecoomb Place. Not everyone knows this yet, but we wanted you to be among the first to hear it.

We’ve just secured a short-term lease (with the chance to extend or even buy) for this incredible site — the historic 18th-century Manor House, Tithe Barn and surrounding gardens — in partnership with Cathedral Group. It’s a bold step, and one we’re so excited to take.

And we won’t be doing it alone…

Joining us in the Manor House is the brilliant team from AudioActive — a much-loved, Sussex-based music charity known for nurturing creativity in young people. Together, we’re working to create a vibrant creative and community hub for the people of Moulsecoomb, Bevendean, Bates Estate, and beyond.

So, what’s coming?

🎶 A new music and creative production space for local young people (thanks to AudioActive!)
🎉 A welcoming venue for gatherings, events, and workshops
🌱 Opportunities to connect, collaborate, and celebrate all that makes this area so special

We’ll also continue our long-term development plans in Whitehawk and keep things running smoothly at The Bevy Pub and Westergate Business Centre — staying true to our mission of building lasting, positive change across East and North Brighton.

In Their Words…

Gary Pleece, CEO of East Brighton Trust:
“I’m delighted we’ve secured the lease on this iconic site. Huge thanks to Richard Upton of Cathedral Group for his shared vision and support. We’re excited to build something truly special for the community.”

Ty Goddard, Chair of East Brighton Trust:
“Moulsecoomb Place is just the beginning — and we’re eager to involve local people in shaping its future.”

Adam Joolia, CEO of AudioActive:
“With creative spaces and youth centres disappearing, this couldn’t come at a more vital time. Losing our hub last year was tough, so we’re thrilled to rebuild here in partnership with East Brighton Trust.”

Be Part of the Journey

This move is just the start, and we want YOU to be part of it. Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing updates and opportunities to get involved. Whether you’re a local resident, community group, or business, we’d love to hear from you.

Moulsecoomb Place has a rich history, and we’re excited to write the next chapter together.

Stay tuned for more details and ways to join in – we can’t wait to get started!
