Manor Road Playground Clean Up
Posted on
On Saturday 11th July a group of local residents and community groups held a community clean up and picnic in the much loved and well used Manor Road Playground. A vital resource for so many people in the local area, the event was put on with help from the City Council and funding from East Brighton Trust in the form of one of our small grants.
The aim was to give those who use and love the playground a chance to help clean and tidy it up before the busy summer period and to celebrate it with a picnic!
Participants were involved in cleaning, tidying up, litter picking and a bit of painting, as well as getting involved in fun activities for families including a bug hunt and arts & craft activities.
Due East Community Development Worker Graham Allen got in touch to say thanks and to send us a snap of the volunteers. The picture shows Jane Fendley, Head of St Marks Primary and Cllr Gill Mitchell plus volunteers from the school and local community and local park users all getting stuck in on the day.
