Repair Café Brings Community Spirit to Moulsecoomb Place

Saturday, 18 October marked International Repair Day, and it also marked something special for East Brighton Trust, as our freshly revamped community space at Moulsecoomb Place opened its doors to a day of connection, creativity, and shared purpose.

Brighton Repair Café and East Brighton Trust joined forces once again for a spectacular pay-as-you-can event, built around a simple but powerful message: repair it, don’t bin it.

The Brighton Repair Café gang were on hand, fixing everything from trousers to tools, helping neighbours breathe new life into well-loved items instead of throwing them away. East Brighton Trust kept everyone fuelled with coffee and croissants from the café, adding to the friendly atmosphere. The room was full of energy and connection, a genuine community gathering that gave everyone something in return.

It was wonderful to see Moulsecoomb Place being used for such a useful and uplifting event. Some of the building’s new creative tenants joined in, meeting locals and getting a feel for the space as it continues to take shape. Tom from Bear Creative came down too, capturing photos and footage of the day and joining East Brighton Trust as they spoke with tenants and locals about the changes to the building. There was a real sense of excitement about what’s next and how this space can continue to host events that bring people together.

We’re thrilled to see Moulsecoomb Place full of life again. As we get closer to officially launching our new community space, we’re looking forward to hosting more great events. Keep an eye on our socials for updates and sneak peeks as the refurbishment progresses.
