St George’s Hall Unveils New Logo Designed by BACA Students
At East Brighton Trust, we’re passionate about creating opportunities that connect people, skills, and community needs — and this latest project perfectly captures that spirit.
The idea for this collaboration was instigated by Gary Pleece, CEO of East Brighton Trust, who wanted to build stronger links between students studying media and design and local community groups that play such a vital role in the area but often lack the resources or experience to produce professional communications. The goal was simple: give young people real-world creative experience while helping community organisations like St George’s Hall to shine.
Earlier this year, this idea came to life as media students from BACA, supported by Bear Creative, worked closely with the team at St George’s Hall to develop a brand-new visual identity. After weeks of research, creative workshops, and feedback sessions, we’re thrilled to unveil the finished logo – a design inspired by the students’ imaginative concepts and polished with the professional guidance of Bear Creative, who managed and refined the final design.
The result captures both the heritage and community spirit of St George’s Hall, offering a fresh identity that will help the hall stand out across its social media, communications, and future signage.
Nicky from St George’s Hall reflected on the process:
“It’s been amazing working with East Brighton Trust and the students from BACA, we feel really lucky to have had this logo designed for us and can’t wait to use it.”
The team at St George’s Hall is optimistic that their new logo will be proudly displayed as part of the upcoming council signage.
This project has been a brilliant example of how creative partnerships can support both young people and local organisations. Students have gained valuable real-world experience working to a live brief, and St George’s Hall now has a distinctive identity that reflects its role as a hub of activity and community life. Alex West of BACA remarked:
“BACA College is proud to work in partnership with The East Brighton Trust and St George’s Hall. Our Media students greatly valued the opportunity to be mentored by industry experts and to deliver a professional final product for a real-world brief. This collaboration has provided them with invaluable experience and insight into the creative industries.”
We’d like to extend a huge congratulations to students Luke, Rhys, and Andrii for their fantastic contributions, and to teacher Alex West for his support throughout. A big thank you also goes to Bear Creative for lending their expertise to guide the process.
We can’t wait to see the logo in action – on social media, in print, and hopefully very soon, proudly displayed on the hall itself.
