Pop-up Charity Shop at Moulsecoomb Hall 12.10.24

Saturday 12th October saw a first-class fundraiser at Moulsecoomb Hall, where charity shop champion, Cathy Taylor, co-ordinated a pop-up spectacular.

Raising much needed funds for Moulsecoomb Community Market, Bevendean Foodbank and Coldean Pantry, Cathy brought together a team of volunteers and proceeded to set-up shop, with everything from trainers to tablecloths. Smarter Uniforms also donated a rail of free school uniform items, and free refreshments were also available.

Local councillors Jacob Taylor, Ty Goddard, Mitchie Alexander and Tobias Sheard were also at the event, helping out with set-up and sales as well as overseeing tea and coffee duties and chatting with local residents.

Along with the proceeds from Cathy’s previous fundraising events, which included a carboot sale and a garage sale, over £600 was raised for the three food banks.

After the event, Cathy told East Brighton Trust:

“The event was a huge success and there’s definitely an appetite for a future event – I might do a jumble sale next time.”
